Inbound Marketing, also known as Permission Marketing, is a marketing strategy developed around the idea of building an audience and then selling them what they want. It is the exact opposite of the outbound marketing strategy where you go out and advertise to everyone who sees it.
Inbound marketing is supposed to attract an audience that is interested in what you are offering and asking you to advise them on what to buy.
Internet and social media have enabled Inbound Marketing. In the world where the cost of communication has dropped to zero and an enormous amount of information is available, inbound marketing is the way to go.
